At the risk of being perceived as heartless or callous, Reza Pahlavi is a miserable opportunist weasel. Normally, a subject like family death, I would leave alone. Normally, a suicide, I would definitely give a very wide berth. However, when a "Crown Prince" who cries crocodile tears for a poor girl (Neda) killed in mind-bogglingly stupid violence says something like this in the aftermath of his own family's tragedy:
"Once again, we are joined with mothers, father and relatives of so many victims of these dark times for our country..."
The gloves come off.
As if this suicide resulted from the difficulties suffered by Iran since the forced departure of the "noble and generous" Shah. As if being surrounded by mind-boggling wealth and total freedom did not supply enough latitude to find a purpose in life. As if the suffering of the Iranian people caused this man at the age of 44 to take his own life. I do not presume to know, but...
